Cameron Barney’s 2022 impact

For many years, Cameron Barney’s focus has been on serving companies and investors in the field of ‘Infratech’ – where infrastructure and technology meet. We have been particularly active in the fields of digital infrastructure and energy transition infrastructure, where we have helped to establish, fund, and develop numerous successful businesses and projects.

Periodically we track our impact in terms of how the funds we have raised for our clients have enabled them to connect communities, generate renewable energy, create new jobs, and reduce the economy’s carbon footprint. As of December 2022:

In digital infrastructure: The clients for whom we have either raised funds or in which we remain invested have now passed over 2.1 million premises and connected over 260,000 customers with fibre broadband.

In energy generation: Our clients have generated in excess of 200 GWh of renewable energy since we raised the first funds for them.

In EV charging: Our clients have installed over 3,700 charge points in the UK and are charging close to 150,000 EVs per month.

In each category, committed funds raised as part of these client financings will enable further roll-outs of their respective infrastructures, and our intention, supported by a strong pipeline of new client opportunities,  is to continue to add to these figures in 2023.

In total, the companies which we have helped finance have created more than 4,200 new jobs; and if the inclusion of contractors was measured, the employment figures would be a multiple of that figure.

In 2023 we look forward to meeting and supporting more entrepreneurs and companies as well as continuing to advise our existing, rapidly growing clients.
